Join us at Barrel as we embark on a 24-hour productivity marathon to help Brooklyn-based BARC get a new website and other cool stuff!

The Barrel 24-Hour Challenge brings together the Barrel team, volunteers, and a nonprofit partner to accomplish big goals in a span of 24 hours.

This will be our inaugural effort, and we're really excited to be working with Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC). The event will take place at Barrel Office.

Meet Barc!

Established in 1987, BARC is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter. Dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless animals, BARC finds permanent loving homes for cats and dogs while ensuring quality food, water, and care for those still waiting.

Barc Stats/

Barc has the capacity to hold 75 cats and 35 dogs.

Each year, they find homes for nearly 1000 animals.

As a no-kill shelter, Barc must turn away up to 10 animals a day.

The Project

Redesign the BARC website, making it a more effective tool for attracting potential adopters and donors.

We'll make it easy for BARC staff to keep the website fresh with new animal profiles and Happy Tails, the BARC version of success stories.

Poster, t-shirts, tote bags, and more!

In addition to the website, we'll be designing and making lots of goodies for BARC.

It'll cost BARC nothing.

Barrel and our friends will be covering the entire cost of the project, an opportunity worth $20,000.
