We started 2014 with the launch of our new core values, the culmination of a 6-month internal effort to define and discuss what we cared about as a team. Our core values have become an integral part of our culture and are central to our decision-making process, including the projects we take on and the new team members we invite to join us.
We each picked an area that we could incrementally improve upon and develop throughout the year. Some team members ventured outside of their discipline to explore the skills of other roles that might complement their core competencies while others went deeper into existing skill sets. We shared our progress with each other every month.
